Welcome to HIST 8885

Yentie 06 - Mohammed Whitesmith's passport

This class is meant to offer an introduction to the many ways of presenting and interpreting history in the rapidly changing world of digital humanities.  Today, we see an almost dizzying proliferation of  new ways of reconstructing the past and interacting with people–readers, students, communities, informants, activists, and independent scholars–who care passionately about history.  The course should provide at the very least a brief acquaintance with a variety of new tools and platforms, while grounding the way we think about doing history in a conversation about technology and scholarship that reaches back across generations and extends just as surely into the future.
